This was a project I was contracted on from the beginning stages through to the final installation. My initial role was to mood board and research to find the right aesthetic. Then, working as a team of two we were to develop a method of casting plaster sheets that embodied a 'cave wall' texture, which would be applied to a framework within the room the wine cave was to be built. We created the textures, produced silicone moulds of the textures and manufactured the hundreds of tiles needed for the job. We then devised the method of installation of the tiles.

Once the moulds had been finalised and the method of production agreed upon, the team upsized and moved down to Blenheim for the installation. My role was to produce the plaster tiles, and then once they had been installed by other team members I was to re-sculpt the seams between the tiles to match the surrounding texture. This was done with coloured plaster and a variety of old tools and brushes that I could get my hands on! Once this was dry the entire room was painted to a consistent colour.
